By us developed diagnostic interface specifically for auxiliary air heaters and additional hot water heaters from the manufacturer Eberspächer/Espar for self-diagnosis with the software (not included) EDiTH or KD2000.
The interface supports the initialization and clearing of errors using signal pulses on the RTS line (for example on the D3WZ and D3L models). An integrated microcontroller evaluates the pulses and generates a correspondingly long pulse. This is otherwise only possible with the diagnostic-capable module clock or the Edith Basic Interface.
In addition, the interface is also partially suitable for OBD and OBD-2 vehicle diagnostics via K and L lines (no CAN) for cars and light commercial vehicles (12 V). Depending on which software you install on your diagnostic computer, different functions are available to you. This gives you flexibility and allows you to carry out manufacturer-specific diagnostics and standardized OBD2 diagnostics (ISO 9141, ISO 14230/KW2000).
Characteristics:
- Microprocessor for signal evaluation and signal generation via RTS
- Intervention of the microphone controller via RTS can be deactivated using a switch
- High-quality USB-serial converter from FTDI with ferrite bead on the USB port for interference immunity.
- No driver problems: The interface can be addressed by the software as a serial RS232 interface (COM port).
- ISO interface driver IC MC33660 (similar to the no longer available L9637): short-circuit proof, reverse polarity protection and clean signal levels
- 5.1 kΩ (Ohm) pull-up resistor instead of the usual 510 Ω for OBD
Mechanical properties:
- OBD2 connector standardized according to SAE J1962 / ISO 15031-3: leading ground pins, center bar for cars (type A)
- The connection to individual lines of the auxiliary heater can be made, for example, via a four-color breakout cable (ground/GND, VCC/+12V, diagnosis/K line)
- Gold-plated plug contacts
- 135 cm long connection cable to USB Type-A plug. Cast including kink protection
- Cable exit can be rotated 180? (by opening the housing)
- 3 LEDs: USB voltage, send data, receive data.
Please note: There are no instructions included with the device. You can download the instructions from us and print them out if necessary. This protects the environment and you always receive the latest version.
