This cable supplies the connected cigarette lighter receptacle via the OBD II socket with power. Thus devices are usually operated via the cigarette lighter, are supplied via the OBD socket.

It is related only the voltage (12 V) from the OBD connector. There is no access to the diagnostic features which are therefore not affected. Please note the maximum permissible current capability of the diagnostic port (depending on the vehicle).
